Jeera Rice

Adding spices is one of the most simple ways to flavour rice, jeera being one of my favourites. Nothing better than Jeera rice made with ghee and some shallots. It takes hardly 5 minutes to make and goes well with pretty much everything- South Indian as well as North Indian curries. From Chettinad Potatoes to Paneer Butter Masala, Jeera rice matches everything.

All you need to do is sauté some shallots in ghee, add jeera, followed by the cooked rice. Season and mix well.

Recipe-

Cooked white rice- 2 Cups
Jeera- 2 Teaspoons
Shallots- 10, sliced
Ghee- 1 Teaspoon
Salt- To Taste
Coriander- To garnish

Add ghee to a saute pan. Once it starts to melt, add in the Slices shallots and the Jeera.
When the shallots turn translucent and start to change colour, add in the cooked rice. Season with salt and mix well, gently. Garnish with coriander and serve
