Tandoori Masala

This tandoori masala can be used to just about anything right from vegetables to meat. I had a Dish with a marinade very similar to this at my sister’s place. She marinated salmon with a tandoori marinade and served it with plain white rice. One of the best dinners we had. It’s very easy to make. Takes about 3 minutes. All you need to do is mix it up and store it in the refrigerator. You can multiply this recipe and make it in bulk. It makes for a great diet meal. All you need to do is, add some yogurt or hung curd to it, with some salt and some ginger garlic paste and your marinade is ready. No oil required, although a drizzle of some desi ghee would take the final dish up several notches.

Try my tandoori fish with some yummy mint chutney and pickled onions for dinner sometime. For a vegetarian option you can try some roasted baby potatoes which taste delicious.

Recipe Tandoori masala:

Red chilli powder 1.5 tablespoon

Cumin powder 1 teaspoon
Coriander powder 1.5 teaspoon
Garam masala 3/4 tablespoon
Kasuri methi 1 tablespoon
Dry mango powder 1/2 teaspoon

Ingredients

For the tandoori masala, Crush Kasturi methi with the palm of your hands. (For better flavour, you can toast the kasuri methi for a minute over low heat in a dry pan). Add all the spices and mix well till you get a homogeneous mixture. Store it in the refrigerator and use when required
